departure day...

...has been weird.  i've been looking forward to this for so long and now it's suddenly here.  i can't comprehend that i'll be in Sydney tomorrow.  my flight leaves at 11:45 tonight which means i have to leave my house at 8:30 to catch the bus to go to the airport to go thru international security to board my plane.  yikes.  i've packed & re-packed & had to discard things i wanted to pack, but it finally all fits in my backpack with enough room for the inevitable accumulation of found stuff.  i've written down important phone numbers for emergencies.  i've taken money out of the atm.  i've showered & dressed comfortably.  and now that everything's done...  i just feel nervous.

i know there's no reason to feel nervous, but as exciting as this trip is, it's also completely unknown.  and with the unknown comes fear, it's only human.  of course, the unknown is also what makes it exciting...  :)

tonight i'll be crossing the ocean, crossing the equator, crossing into a new chapter in  my life.  i'm ready.

today i am so grateful and happy to be taking this trip.
